Facebook Is Depressing

I'm not much into Facebook. I made one a few years ago at the urging of some of the few remaining friends I had. I only sign on about once a week to check for messages and then promptly sign off when I see I don't have many or any.

Today I chose to actually spend some time on the site and browse through the "Suggested Friends" area (or whatever it's called). I came across a few things that instantly made me hate life a little more.

1.) A lot of the hot girls from high school are now married to old men. From just the small sample of hot girls I looked at, I can tell you that a good portion of them were either in a relationship or married to some old man. This shouldn't really bother me, considering I had no chance with them in the first place, however, this says something about the true nature of these girls. They just want their well-established, older, sugar-daddy. The shallow nature of the sexes goes both ways, ladies.

2.) Everyone seems to be having such a good time. Sure, they might be miserable inside, but they are at least living some sort of existence. They have all been living some sort of life with some sort of progression while mine has remained stagnant and unchanging.

3.) Idiots who got into good schools. I can't tell you how much this made me upset. People who weren't in the advanced placement courses with me, who didn't try in high school and somehow made it into prestigious schools. I'm sure some of them were legacy admissions (or those other bullshit ways that people get into universities without trying), but I'm sure some of them got in through the luck of the draw. Two bimbos I came across made me the most upset. I know one of the girl's SAT scores and the fact that she got into the #3 state school here in  CA despite that less-than-middling score made me want to punch someone in the face.

I think I will be staying off Facebook for awhile.

  4. Fuck Facebook.

Everyone pretends to live a glamorous life style on Facebook. Their photos and "comments" are nothing but artificial pieces of shit, concocted by their feeble minds as a way to pad them against the harsh reality of post-college(or high school) existence.

Look where there marriages(and jobs) are in 15 years. You should be smarter than to give in to the facebook.

Look up. Keep moving. And don't be distracted by stupid bullshit.

Thanks for the encouraging words. I think you're spot on in your analysis.

  6. sometimes hot girls just need the stimulating conversation of a mature, well travelled gentleman.

  7. Facebook is depressing because of all the potential it vacuums out of people in front of computers.

  8. I try to stay off it as much as possible as well, I completely understand your points. It always makes me laugh to see how many of the popular hot girls had a baby just after school and now have really mundane life.

  9. I dislike being friends with old friends from high school because most of them spam status updates about some party or getting wasted at a bar, or they're hung over. And the others are on drugs, & bitching about being on parole, & not being able to party.

    Egh.

  10. I hardly use facebook, I only used it for apps in the first place. When I got done with that I no longer logged in.

  12. Facebook is indeed a very lonely place. It gives the illusion that it keeps everyone close but I think it's actually a sad, empty experience.
